Meet Edith
👋 Hi there! Thank you for considering connecting with me. If we were to work together, you’d likely be sharing a lot of your story with me—so I want you to know mine, too. What I offer as a therapist, mentor-coach, consultant, and supervisor isn’t only shaped by years of professional training—it’s also deeply rooted in the journey I’ve walked and the cultural roots that ground me. The lessons I’ve carried, the challenges I’ve faced, and the healing I’ve pursued shape the way I show up—with compassion, authenticity, and deep respect for the identities, cultures, and lived experiences you bring.

My Heritage
I was born and raised in Miami to a Nicaraguan mother and a Cuban father. Though I was born in the U.S., my first language was Spanish and I speak it fluently. My parents immigrated to escape communism and a civil war and built their lives in the U.S. in their later years. I am my mother's 8th child and my father's 4th so I come from a big family.
My Lived Experiences
I was a caregiver for my mother as she faced and ultimately passed from cancer. I’ve also walked through the loss of a former partner to suicide and have close ties to the veteran community. Within my own family, I’ve witnessed the impact of both substance use and mental health challenges. My healing journey has included many years of trauma therapy, and today I continue to care for myself through somatic coaching and other practices. Prioritizing my mental health isn’t just something I encourage for others—it’s a commitment I live by every day. I strive to practice what I preach.
My Blessings
I am happily married and am a fur mom to Sammy, a Parson Russell Terrier. (Like a good dog mom and singer, you know she has her own album of songs by me). I’m grateful for an incredible support system made up of a few close family members but mostly friends—the family we choose. Along my journey, I’ve been blessed to meet amazing individuals who have played a vital role in shaping my life.

Professional Bio
I'm a two-time graduate of Florida International University where I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Social Work. Given my own path in holistic healing and having a deep awareness of the importance of an integrative approach to wellness, I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Energy Yoga in Florida and received certification in trauma-informed yoga from Nikki Myers, Founder of Yoga for 12 Step Recovery. I am certified Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, am a certified Master’s Addictions Professional (MCAP), and as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I have received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) as well to compliment my training.
I have studied nutrition, functional medicine, and practice functional movement to better understand how stress, environment, movement, and diet impact overall health. In partnership with a colleague, I co-founded Florida’s first peer consultation & connection group specifically designed for social workers and mental health professionals. This group, held monthly, promotes both personal and professional wellness while cultivating a strong sense of community, growth, and resilience within the field.
